DESCRIPTION
What began as a seductive torso became a piece of hesitation, indecisiveness, and endless revisions. And so it was abandoned for five years under the weight of self-doubt. Once I dusted it off I began to reflect on how I got my creative spark in the first place — what came to mind at the time was my brother’s award-winning pears marching across a road and my great-grandfather’s portrait of an Indigenous chief in full headdress. By uniting these echoes with the unfinished body, I transformed hesitation into homage, weaving insecurity with inspiration. The piece asks: when our past and our doubts converge, do they diminish us — or redefine who we are becoming?
